Taking a breather from finals.

There is a sleeping kitteh on my lap. Yes you needed to know that. Dr. Horrible 1st performance was last night I flubbed my duet a bit but rocked everything else. I am bitter about the duet though, I'm usually good with that one. 2nd performance tonight where I have much less to do.

anyways....

So Scotland Barbie! arrived this week (also Pike!). Her hair has been died using the questionable permanent marker method. I don't think it set properly so I'm looking into rerooting now (it's stained her quite a bit but the stains have all come off so far thankfully). I'll be giving her another rinse and attempt at setting but I'm pretty sure it's gonna be reroot.

But as it stands:



One gets a hot dress because she has no uniform yet. She'll be getting one....eventually. When I find a good price.

I just want to stare at herrrrrrrrr. I did the permanent marker thing! It took the black really well and I like the look of it. But I don't think it set right because I was getting smudges. I have her hair clipped back rn actually to prevent stains and am gonna try to set it again. If that does not work I'm probably gonna reroot her.

Did you wipe her down with isopropyl alcohol? Because that is apparently what is supposed to do the actual setting of the ink. IIRC. (SO PRETTY.)

I did but I don't think I got everything maybe? I have some touch ups to do anyway so after that I'll try it again more thoroughly and see if she's ~good~. I also used some conditioner on her which might have been the problem.

It might be the Mattel styling goop residue that's making it not set right, especially combined with the conditioner if it didn't all come out. Still. PRETTY.

Yeah I'm gonna rinse her down a bunch before the next coat which will hopefully take care of things. *crosses fingers* NOW SHE JUST NEEDS A UNIFORM. AND I'M GOING TO PAINT HER NAILS THIS WEEKEND.

Aww poor little Emmy! I am such a doll addict, I held onto my Barbies for ages(and still have a bunch in my parent's basement even) and then started getting Blythes as soon as I had money. Dollies are just so cuuuute.
