Upon arrival the roommate rejoiced and declared he needed to be on display (We have a slight obsession with Jeffery Hunter in our house). He's protecting our apartment from his spot on the tv for the moment.

Doll bodies should be arriving today! I am excite.


Continued apartment arranging/cleaning, have been put on call-in status for jury duty ( \o/ ) and bought insurance on wednesday. Exciting exciting.

Now to find employment.

Could be different plastics from different places. Outside of that, I've got nothin'. (A lie, perhaps. Mistress of Ceremonies is definitely pale enough for Scotland (though I think a little too pale of Queen of Hearts*, with the caveat that she feels delicate enough that you sometimes think she'll fall apart if you breathe on her wrong.)

Quite possibly. I think there are two versions of her one bendy and one non so that might be it??? Idk it's weird. (Noting. Scotland is at least v. v. close to Queen of Hearts going of Tara's pics, I need to just bite the bullet and get one I think. Oh dolly bodies. y so troublesome?)

IIRC her Cait is a Scotland, and so you might be able to do a vicarious comparison in the pics with Cait&Colt/Scotland&Summer.

(Queen of Hearts, incidentally, is not quite as pale as Basics #12, but is close enough for a body-match.)

Yes it is, she only has a couple pics of her but this (http://www.flickr.com/photos/taraljc/4673778234/in/set-72157623738195796/) seems to indicate QoH and Scotland are pretty close on their paleness level.

Scotland looks like she has more of a peaches & cream thing going on than QoH, who has definite ... not orange, but warmer undertones to her vinyl. Which is not actually helpful as re: Edeline's skintone. (The Asian-looking 12-dancing-princesses doll with the purple eyes may also yield a suitable bendy body?)

That's a pretty good way to put it, Scotland's pretty peachy, with a tiny bit of yellow going on. (I was just looking at her, she seems pretty consistently paler)

Mattel should reveal the number of the plastic and vinyls they use in all their dolls, and some people who are not us should make a wiki with this information so that we do not have to rely on flickr's hit-or-miss photos. See also the woman whose digicam settings made the bendy fashionista bodies look like a match for QoH.

Yes this. I would worship whoever did it too. Lighting makes a world of difference and oh how weird it is to tell sometimes and when everyone is futzing with lighting it makes it ridiculous. Ughhhh I got one of those and yeah, no. So tan! She did match one my other girlies very nicely though.

They're so prettehhhhh, I splurged for clothed they will so get used. Oooo hot. (Blythessss. I've actually gone backwards in dollies $$ wise it was blythes then pullips(and still blythe...) and now its mostly barbie. Blythes are SO GORGE but oh the expense. I tend to search for months and months before I buy one because of it. I have 6 and I started buying 4 and half years ago.)

I kindof wish I had waited to get clothed because PRETTEH but, ah. The nude one had cheap shipping! (I refuse to pay $10 for shipping for one doll, especially when they fit in the $7 flat rate box. Also people who put up auctions for 99¢/no reserve and then charge $40 shipping within the continental US suck and this practice should be against the TOS.)

I accidentally bid on one that did not list the shipping in the shipping place, but in the description, and I freaked out and flailed around (it was for a Mulder/Scully X-Files set, which I want anyway but NOT FOR $40 SHIPPING, and which is not even going for $40 right now jeeze) but was able to withdraw my bid on a basis of "entered wrong bid amount" and then "forgot" to re-enter the "right" bid. Because the seller is obvs a jerk like that.
